If your child is content and healthy, it's a sign that they're getting enough sleep. Sleep supports growth, development, and wellbeing.
Sleep needs vary in newborns, babies, toddlers and preschoolers – just as the sleep needs of older children and adults do. Children's sleep needs change as they grow, and so do the ways they settle to sleep.
Every child is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Parenting styles and settling strategies can also vary, and what works well for one family may not suit another.

- Early Parenting Centres – these centres offer a range of specialised support for families with children 0 to 4 years, including day stays, overnight stays and support with sleep. Early Parenting Centre services are provided at no cost and families can self-refer.
