Description
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) implements the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme, which oversees 15 national health practitioner boards including:
- Chinese medicine
- chiropractic
- dental
- osteopathy
- pharmacy
- physiotherapy and psychology boards.
AHPRA also receives complaints about registered health practitioners on behalf of the national boards and manages the complaints process.

- Publishes information about the registration status of health practitioners in Australia

How to access

The National Relay Service is available to help callers who are d/Deaf, or find it hard to hear or speak to hearing people on the phone.
The Translating and Interpreting (TIS National) is available (24 hours, 7 days) for callers who speak other languages. Call 131 450.
Costs
- AHPRA provides a free complaints service.
- Calls are charged at the cost of a local call.
- Calls from mobile phones may be charged at a higher rate.
Tip
- You can make a complaint by phone, by downloading the notifications form the AHPRA website and submitting it by post, or in person at an AHPRA office.
Important
- This service cannot be used to make complaints about health practitioners or services that are not covered under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme. Check the AHPRA website for a list of the 15 national boards.
