Description

The Victorian Mental Illness Awareness Council (VMIAC) provides a wide range of services related tomental health, emotional issues and mental illness. In addition to its work with individuals and families,it also offers: individual, group and sector advocacy; research; and education and training aboutmental illness and its effects.

Eligibility

Any person who has experienced mental health or emotional issues can use the VMIAC advocacy service.

VMIAC provides a free service.

Calls are charged at the cost of a local call from anywhere in Victoria.

Calls from mobile phones may be charged at a higher rate.

  • VMIAC can provide information about psychiatrists who might be willing to bulk-bill some patients.
  • You can join VMIAC as an individual, group or associate member.
  • Membership is available to anyone who has experienced mental illness or emotional issues and to groups of people who have lived through mental illness.
